Laurie Green a.k.a. Mrs.Geeky

​

During her 30 plus years of working in the Technology Education field,  Laurie has become a  recognized speaker, curriculum consultant, and workshop leader.  Her experiences have included serving on the keynote panel for Learning 2.0 in Shanghai, China, as a Keynote speaker for the Maths and Science conference in Queensland, Australia, and presenting at various conferences throughout the United States including ISTE and OETC.  She is a Certified LEGO Robotics Instructor, Quality Matters Certified,  Makey Makey Certified trainer, and Raspberry Pi Certified Educator  Additionally she served as a volunteer for FIRST for 10 years including 3 years as a regional director for the Cleveland, Ohio FIRST Lego League robotics competitions.

 

Laurie taught at Cleveland Public Schools, and served as the technology coordinator for Laurel School for Girls, Summit County ESC, and Buckeye Local Schools, Medina, Ohio.  She was also the online learning coordinator for PBS ideastream®, conducted numerous workshops for Western Reserve Education Services PBS, taught at Cleveland State University, and has worked with the Kent State University Research Center for Educational Technology in their AT and T Classroom. Laurie enjoys developing customized professional development experiences for faculty and staff. Additionally, Laurie has had a special interest in helping schools provide environments that nurture girls' interests in science and technology.

Laurie holds a Bachelor's in Business from The Ohio State University, a Master's Degree from Cleveland State University in Curriculum and Foundations with a focus on Technology Education, and a postgraduate certificate in Computational Thinking from The University of Pennsylvania.

Amy Westby

​

As the founder of a venture incubator and investment company, Amy engages in portfolio career projects that create a global impact based on her 30-year expertise in education, business, and philanthropy.

 

Previously, as the Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives, The NSLS Foundation and Education for the National Society of Leadership and Success, Amy oversaw the programming and advancement of education for thousands of students each year towards leadership development and community commitment.   

 

Amy spent 15 years as the Chief Academic Officer and the VP of International Sales for a large, educational, experiential ed-travel company.  She simultaneously was the Executive Director of several non-profit organizations focused on equity in experiential education and serving people of all economic backgrounds and disabilities.  

 

Her work before corporate life included serving in educational leadership roles on several continents and working in Washington, D.C., and American public and private schools, including building a new charter school system in Texas.   

 

Amy holds numerous education and business degrees and certifications from professional organizations, including the International Baccalaureate Organization and the Colorado Center for Non-Profit Management and Leadership.  Amy loves traveling and spending time outdoors with her family and friends.
