Quite by accident, I found a great idea that would work well as a classroom Lego organizer or Lego Wall. I was attempting to decide where to install a Lego wall in Mrs. Geeky's garage. It was somewhat challenging because I was running out of space. Then, I made an incredible discovery- Make-It Blocks Storage case. To be completely transparent, I had never heard of it before; I just came across it at Dollar Tree and have no affiliation with the product's manufacturer. As an educator, the possibilities for the classroom began to take shape, or perhaps I should say the Lego Gears started turning. See below for more information and ideas. I discovered several places where you can buy the Make-It Blocks organizer, such as Dollar Tree, and I've also seen them on eBay. It's convenient that Dollar Tree offers bulk ordering.
The top of the storage case is a Lego Plate, so students can use Legos* from the case and create an open-ended Lego creation right on top of the case! *You or the students can add Legos to the base. This does not come with Legos.
Sort Legos by Color, Nomenclature, or other features.
Create placemates for Legos that are in the box, for sorting, organizing, and reference.
