The Space Exploration Educators Conference (SEEC) has something for every teacher. Whether you teach Kindergarten, Art, High School Science, or anything in between you will benefit from attending the SEEC held at the Space Center in Houston, Texas . With the Space Center as your classroom, you will, as I like to say “Find the STEM in your curriculum, not the Curriculum for STEM". STEM is everywhere. You will find the STEM in your curriculum here that you never knew was there. Come back with a plethora of ideas, not to mention learning about all the FREE resources from NASA that you can use across the curriculum. While at the Space Center take the opportunity to walk inside the Space Shuttle Atlantis and the plane that flew it piggy back to Cape Canaveral. Inside the plane they tell you the story of the ingenuity it took to come up with what seemed like an improbable concept and brought it to reality. A great illustration of the benefits of providing students with environmnets that nurture the "conditons for invention" (Seymour Papert).
This truly was one of the most unique, beneficial, and fun conferences I have been to. So mark your calendars, beg your district, get a grant, plan a family vacation, do something, and get yourself to the Space Exploration Educators Conference in Houston, Texas, February 6-8, 2025.
